Beth Davidson
A Rockland County Legislator, Beth is Chair of the Environment Committee and Vice Chair of the Housing and Economic Development Committee. She is a former two-term Nyack school board member with a two-decade history of service on both sides of the Hudson.
At EMILY’s List, Beth helped to elect pro-choice Democratic women across the country – senators, representatives and governors. At the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Davidson raised awareness and funds for those impacted by MS. Closer to home, Beth serves at the Rockland County Pride Center as a volunteer and advocate.
Cait Conley
Cait was a junior at Pine Bush High School on 9/11 when she watched the Twin Towers fall. In that moment, she felt her calling to serve and protect. The next day, she started her application to the United States Military Academy at West Point, earning a congressional nomination from the late Congressman Maurice Hinchey and eventually graduating in the top 2% of her class. Cait was the first in her family to graduate from college and went on to earn master’s degrees from MIT and Harvard.
Mike Sacks
A lawyer-turned-television reporter, Mike spent 15 years covering political and legal affairs across every branch of the federal government. He won an Emmy for his coverage of the George Floyd protests and is a nationally recognized expert on the Supreme Court.
He has always lived by the idea that the truth isn't dead if we don't let it die.
A single dad living in Croton-on-Hudson, Mike is a proud SAG-AFTRA union member, public school parent, and rightfielder with his Temple brotherhood's Westchester Hebrew Softball League team. He holds a J.D. from Georgetown Law and a B.A. from Duke.
Effie Phillips-Staley
Effie Phillips-Staley is a Tarrytown Trustee and nonprofit executive who has dedicated her life to social justice and public service. Raised in a union household by a public school educator from El Salvador and a blue-collar U.S. military veteran, Effie learned early the values of hard work, dignity, and community. She is running for Congress because this moment demands transformational change, not politics as usual that serve corporations and the ultra-rich while working families fall behind. In Congress, Effie will put people first by fighting for Medicare for All, universal childcare, building five million new homes across America, abolishing ICE and “Block the Bombs” legislation. She will never take money from corporate PACs or AIPAC..
John Cappello
John Cappello grew up in Suffern. His dad was a New York City Firefighter and his mom worked for the Town of Ramapo.
Steeped in public service, John graduated from Suffern High School and was offered an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. In his more than 25-year career as an Air Force officer, John was qualified as a B-1 Bomber pilot and later served key assignments in Ukraine and at the U.S. Embassies in Israel and Serbia.
